October 2011 – World Vision Concert Tour

Thank you to all who attended and helped raise enough money to support three more children through World Vision Canada.

Welsh singer-songwriter Martyn Joseph kicked off his “Because We Can” tour with long time songwriting partner, poet and BBC Radio presenter, Stewart Henderson. Martyn is like the Welsh version of Bruce Springsteen.

Calgary’s fashion & arts community was buzzing and we were thrilled to see Ruby Ellen’s latest Collection before she was off to Boston & Brooklyn to debut her PLAY ON FUCHSIA spring 2012 Collection.

Live Auction and Lunch Social were held in the basement of the Lantern after the Fashion Show in the Main Sanctuary.

July 2011 – Viva Las Vegas

The recital performance of Viva Las Vegas was presented by the Sigsana Performing Arts students, located right here in Inglewood.

About Singsana:

Singsana offers musical study of a wide variety of genres, such as pop, jazz, musical theatre, classical, rock and anything else you can think of. Students can sign up for private 30 minute or one hour classes on a weekly basis and can enroll in voice lessons, piano lessons or theory lessons. Many students choose to partake in more than one of these options.

Lauren Ireland

Instructor: Lauren Ireland 

Lauren travelled to New York with St. Mary’s High School Jazz Choir to work with Phil Matson, which culminated in a performance at Carnegie Hall, where Lauren had a solo. Lauren was selected as a back-up vocalist for Paul Brandt’s CBC Television Special in 2003.

Many of Lauren’s students have placed first or first runner up at competitions such as the Kiwanis Music Festival, Calgary Junior Idol, and the Stampede Youth Talent Search.
