Back Porch Stories

Set to the styling of Stuart Mclean and the Vinyl Cafe

While sitting on the lake one summer, the Lantern’s pastors discovered the narratives of Canada’s beloved Stuart McLean and questioned why they couldn’t bring something similar to a church setting. They wondered why they couldn’t set aside ‘the sermon’ and ‘traditional singing’, at least on occasion, and replace them with meaningful home-cooked stories? Why not ask gifted musicians to assist with the story?

So here they are. The Back Porch Stories. We hope you enjoy them and please feel free to give us your feedback.

Unit 68 - Christmas 2016

Determined to make a good impression, he hastily agrees to a visit at the South Calgary hospital campus. It’s in Unit 68 that Pete encounters his long-lost cousin Ricky – and in so doing – is forced to grapple with some of his fears and regrets of a life gone by.
